⚡ VALVE LASH ⚡
When setting valve lash, the piston must be at TDC
- The piston must be at TDC
- You must remove the spark plug
- look into the hole or use a straw/rod to verify it is at TDC
- You cannot use the “old school” method of rolling over the motor and watching both rockers close; the compression release on the cam will give an incorrect reading!
- It is a common mistake as everyone wants to just roll over the motor until they see both valves close, but it does not work. You have to remove the spark plug and watch the piston
