Carburetor Selection Guide

Stock Carburetors: Factory carburetors are designed for reliability and fuel economy. Suitable for stock engines and mild performance upgrades. Limited tuning capability.

22mm Mikuni VM22: Round slide design provides smooth throttle response and easy tuning. Entry level performance upgrade with good reliability. Bolt-on installation, no modifications required.

24mm Mikuni Flat Slide: Flat slide design offers improved throttle response and fuel atomization. Ideal for Stage 2 and Stage 3 builds. May require intake manifold adapter.

Sizing Recommendations

Small Engines (GX200, 212cc): 22mm-28mm carburetors depending on performance level. Oversizing can reduce low-end torque and throttle response.

Medium Engines (GX240, GX270, 224cc): 24mm-28mm carburetors for most applications. Larger sizes for advanced racing builds.

Large Engines (GX340, GX390, 420cc): 28mm-38mm carburetors depending on build level. Proper jetting critical for engines over 28mm.

Installation Notes

Jetting: All performance carburetors require proper jetting for your specific engine, altitude, and fuel type. Start with recommended baseline jets and adjust based on performance and spark plug readings.
